DESCRIPTION:Join Andrei Fenner\, GGC south area rep at EDGE Motorworks in Mountain View for a free track talk! EDGE’s special guest Kevin Pankhurst (see bio below) will be presenting and plans to explain in detail the nuances of every turn at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway. This session is recommended for all students registered for GGC’s HPDE at Laguna Seca but is well suited to beginner and intermediate students. \nDate/Time: Sunday\, February 19\, 1-4p \nPlease RSVP by email to Aleksey Kadukin\, space is limited. \nKevin Pankhurst has been into motorsports for almost 20 years\, starting in karts for a few years then transferring over to head instructor at Race Karts Inc. based in Novato\, with the primary track being Davis. His first BMW was a 1998 E36 M3 which he picked up in 2006. After discovering the quite large BMW online community he signed up with BMWCCA and soon went to his first autocross. That transitioned into a BMW Car Control Clinic and then his first track day. \nAfter several years of driving events (consistently 20+ days per year) Kevin decided to try his hand at Time Trials with NASA. He won his first event\, unseating the reigning TT champ who hadn’t lost in two years. Kevin was instantly in a battle for 1st place and has had great success. Kevin still runs TT as well as GTS with NASA\, and over the years has secured many track records for the class he runs in\, which is TTC. One of Kevin’s greatest achievements was to get the NASA NorCal track record at Laguna Seca for TTC\, and in that same weekend get the record for TTB in the same car that was prepared for TTC. Kevin beat the 2nd place TTB prepared car by .044 seconds to take 1st place. For the length of the track and the speeds they were going that equates to 1.416 feet. The closest finish Kevin has ever had. Kevin also has a NASA NorCal TTC record for the 5 mile Thunderhill track. \nNot only can Kevin drive but he also does all of the graphics at Edge Motorworks. All of the vinyl wraps and cut vinyl you see on the Edge Mortorworks are done by Kevin. He’s is constantly adding designs to the Edge portfolio and he works with any of our customers who would like to add a little or a lot of vinyl to their cars.

Do you want more finesse with car control when your car is at the absolute limits? \nThen sign up for Advanced Instructor Training at the Marina Airport. You will work side by side with some of the most talented mentors our program has to offer. We will work with you to hone your current skills and build the foundation for more advanced skills. The day will consist of multiple exercises and chalk talks that have been built specifically for this training to make you a better driver and instructor. \nIn order to attend this event you must have the following: \n\nBe an instructor candidate or have attended at least one CCC as an instructor.\nValid CA drivers license.\n\nTwo-driver cars are allowed — with each driver registering separately. \nThis event will be held at the Marina Airport on December 18\, 2016. You must arrive by 7:00 AM. The event is expected to end at 5:30 PM.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun run autocross at Marina Airport. This type of event runs similarly to a regular event without the formal competition. \nWe do not require previous high performance driver training or experience\, but participation in a Car Control Clinic or Autocross School is highly recommended. First timers and inexperienced autocrossers will be assigned a driver coach to ensure they get the most out of their day. \nOur events are very social and we welcome all makes of cars\, not just BMWs and MINI. Unlike some other clubs\, we don’t limit registrations from other marques. Everyone has the same chance of getting in! \nRegistration opens 11/14 @ noon!

DESCRIPTION:A driving school is a fun and safe way to drive your BMW on track and learn the famous ‘driving line’. Every student is paired with an experienced in-car coach offering one-on-one instruction throughout the day. The school is divided into 4 groups from beginner to advanced. In between your sessions you will attend classroom sessions to better understand the science of driving. You will come away with a great sense of accomplishment\, new driving techniques\, and a renewed appreciation for your BMW—not to mention great stories and photos to share with your friends and family! \n\n\nOur schools offer as much as 50% more driving time than other clubs and our very experienced coaches come from a diverse background of advance driving and racing experience with a focus on good communication with their students. \nNew for this event\, EVERY student will receive complimentary photos from our outstanding track photographer\, Dito Milan of Got Blue Milk Photography.  Photos will be available for free download after the event! \n\n\nWe are also offering our Advanced Coaching program using in-car\, data acquisition systems. Your dedicated coach will help you become more consistent driver by optimizing your braking\, turn-in\, and acceleration timing through every turn of the course.
